The Go Through Experiment

The Go Through Experiment

The Concept

Movement research requires time and space away from performance pressure and structured learning environments. The Go Through Experiment creates this space, bringing 10 dancers together for 3 weeks of deep movement exploration in the South of France.

Most dancers split their practice between choreographic creation and technique classes. While both are essential, they can create a ceiling in our artistic development. Breaking through requires a different approach: total immersion in movement research, letting go of external expectations and learned patterns.

The Go Through Approach

Years of training often lead dancers to accumulate movement vocabularies and stylistic habits. While this builds technical foundation, it can also turn us into movement machines, repeating patterns rather than discovering authentic expression.

This retreat creates the conditions to transcend these patterns. Through sustained daily practice - 8 hours of movement, often in silence - we let the body find its own intelligence. By maintaining this deep state of research for three weeks, participants naturally develop their unique movement signature, touching the raw source of their creativity and dance.

The Space

The Go Through Experiment takes place at LAOM, a dedicated dance and creation space co-founded by Eliott Meunier in the South of France. Eliott initiated this project to provide dancers with an environment purely focused on movement research, away from urban distractions. The space was specifically designed for this type of immersive work, offering both professional facilities and a natural setting conducive to deep practice.
